19.01.2011. The Permanent Representation of Malta has notified the European Commission in relation to the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Order 2011 (AL 8/11), which has been adopted by the Prime Minister to implement the Regulation (EC) No 1082/2006 on EGTCs (European grouping of territorial cooperation).
Based on the working group established by the euroregion partners in the common office of Bolzano that setup focuses on those objectives:
The EGTC West-Vlaanderen Dunkerque Côte d'Opale presented its cross-border cooperation between hospitals in the border area between Belgium and France during the Forum of the Committee of the Regions "The Single Market Act: What's in it for Europe's regions and cities?" on 30 November 2010.
The Pyrenees Mediterranean European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) set up CreaMed, a project focused on creating synergies between business incubators of the regions of Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
The Committee of the Regions is "surprised that the European Commission's work programme does not mention in any part the application or proposal for revision of the Regulation (EC) 1082/2006 on EGTC".
The CESCI, the MOT, the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice of Hungary and the French-Hungarian Initiative Association organised a conference titled 'Regional development through innovation in multilevel organized cross-border cooperation'. The conference was taken place under the auspices of the President of Hungary Mr. Pál Schmitt on 9th and 10th of December 2010 in the Budapest History Museum (Budapest).
Regulation EC No. 1082/2006 on EGTC foresees that by 1 August 2011 the Commission shall forward a report to the European Parliament and the Council on the application of the EGTC Regulation and proposals for amendments, where appropriate. Deadline: 20 July 2010

10th February 2010 Mr. Zoltan Varga Minister of Local Government attended the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions and held a professional consultation with Manuel Chavez González the Spanish Minister of Territorial Policy.
The COTER Commission of the Committee of the Regions assigned Mr. Alberto Nunez Felijoo as the rapporteur of the EGTC regulation review process, who is responsible for the coordination of the tasks in connection with the review process.
