European Week of Regions and Cities
Between 10 and 13 October the 9th OPEN DAYS - European Week of Regions and Cities- will be held. The OPEN DAYS has become an annual key event for cities and regions to showcase their capacity for creating growth and jobs, implementing European Union cohesion policy, and proof the importance of the local level for good European governance.
Conceived and developed by the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission, DG for Regional Policy, this communication platform regularly enlists loyal support from thousands of local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts, whose achievements have been manifold in the areas of economic success and social integration, co-operation between regions, fruitful public-private partnerships at local level, and with research centres and universities.
206 regions and cities from 27 Member States and 8 third countries have been selected to take part in OPEN DAYS 2011 during which several workshops and seminars will be held.
