The European Comparative Minority Research Public Foundation is a background institute of the Hungarian Government. It is a research base and a strategic workshop. Its responsibilities include the analysis of the important basic processes of the region, the forecasting of new trends, the creation of quick analyses and the performance of applied research.

The objective of the discussion initiated by the Public Foundation was to inform those interested who arrived from some Hungarian-Slovakian border regions about the advantages of the establishment of EGTC, its main steps and to initiate professional discussion about developments.
